Learning To Meditate
Yoga practices are techniques and studies and experiential disciplines of meditation. The word Yoga, means "union" and is the Sanskrit ancestor to the word "yolk" in English. Knowledge is a thought wave in the mind, and has borrowed intelligence. Perception may arouse an ego that states "I know this", but this is not the authentic self speaking. True wisdom borrows from the collective unconscious - and is therefore more wise, far reaching and expansive than ordinary single-mindedness. It is in tapping into this higher state of awareness, that profound changes can occur. It is in transcending, or getting past our everyday thoughts - to become still and quiet - that we may enter into a higher energy frequency. When a person's mind is still and clear the mistaken belief of "separatism" vanishes - like the removal of a mask or disguise; to reveal unity, holism and illumination. At our Centre, meditation techniques are offered that borrow from various wisdoms. These practices might also include the use of "Sutra" a thread or a bead, as the student becomes more advanced. Guided imagery, by contrast - is a cognitive and most beautiful avenue of verbal prompting - through a story or "scene setting" that may empower, enliven and guide the client to more profound self awareness, healing and empowerment. Guided Imagery can be used in a group setting, or on an individual basis, and may also be utilized via recording. Energy may be likened to a muscle that moves more efficiently with use. Stillness and quiet are the direct opposite side of the SAME coin.
